Quantum Working Group
Working Group Leaders: Zoltán Peskó (IBM Hungary Kft.) and Gábor Varga (IVSZ)
Quantum computing is no longer just a promise for the distant future, but a strategic technology that is fundamentally rewriting the rules of the digital economy. The IVSZ Quantum Working Group was established to bring quantum technology from the scope of academic research and turn it into an understandable, plannable business tool for Hungarian companies.
2026 focus areas:
- hybrid architectures: the combined application of HPC, AI, and quantum algorithms;
- quantum-based approaches to industry value chains and real-world business problems;
- quantum security transformation and post-quantum cryptography;
- participation in international programs;
- ecosystem building among research institutions, deep tech startups, and large corporations;
- quantum communication networks.
How we operate?
The working group holds professional forums every two months in a hybrid format. Distinguishing between short-, medium-, and long-term technology horizons helps member companies prioritize their developments and investments. The working group is also open to organizing joint meetings and off-site events.
